2011 Ford Mustang Upgrade

By Published on February 1st, 2010 1 Comment

It was nice to see Ford refresh the 2010 Mustang, given that the previous model started to look its age. It didn’t help that the Chevy Camaro and Dodge Challenger were just released with more of an updated look.

But there was one thing holding the ‘stang back from being competitive in this market and that was its engine. It was outdated. Hell, the V6 was outdated when the car first made it out on the scene back in 2005. Only outputting a mere 210HP, compared to some faster family sedans, it was an embarrassment.

For 2011, that has all changed. Ford is set to release the new 2011 Mustang this year with a double upgrade. One to its V8 engine, bumping horsepower up to 412 with an impressive 5.0 liter V8 and two, an updated V6 outputting 305 horses with an estimated EPA of 30MPG on highways. Not too shabby.

I have a soft spot for Ford, ever since my old 2004 red Crown Vic. Say what you will about its old-fart styling, that car was a dream to drive. It was like sitting on your coach and the V8 power was there when you needed it.

My Altima’s lease is up in 2011, will the ‘stang be my next car? With the latest upgrades to their engines, it’s a strong contender.
