Top 10 Most Anticipated Games of 2013
This year has been good to us gamers. With a constant stream of quality AAA titles being released there honestly isn’t enough time in the day to play all the games we want and still have enough time for the important things (such as watching “American Idol” or “Dancing with the Stars” as well as posting what we ate for lunch on Yelp and Facebook). With the year already halfway over and the current generation of consoles reaching their end it is hard to believe there is something worthwhile to pull us away from reality TV and social networks. But thank Kardashian there is….
Behold my top 10 list of the most anticipated console game releases for 2013. (Notice Wii U games are not included in this list. The Wii U is neither something worth anticipating game releases for, nor is it a console. It is just an expensive piece of plastic that holds coasters for your favorite beverage and can transmit diseases from one child to another at kiosks located in Walmart and Gamstop.)
#10) The Last of Us (PS3)
This is already getting rave reviews with multiple sites giving it a perfect 10. With this releasing just this upcoming Friday the 14th this is pretty much a no brainer. Unless you don’t have a PS3 you have no excuse not to play this game.
#9) Batman: Arkham Origins (Xbox 360, PS3)
Two reasons…Arkham Asylum….Arkham City….nuff said.
#8) Saint’s Row IV (Xbox 360, PS3)
An even bigger and better sequel that is even crazier than part 3….and that one had dildos as weapons!
#7) Call of Duty: Ghosts (Xbox 360, PS3)
It’s on the list for all the COD fanboys. However, I am tired of listening to 10 year-olds scream and sing rap songs in multi-player matches so I can’t say I am still a fan of the series. If I wanted my video games with a side of bratty obnoxious kids I would walk into a Gamestop.
#6) Battlefield 4 (Xbox 360, PS3)
One of the best military FPS series ever released. You might want to consider the PS4 or Xbox One version of the game to get all the visual bells and whistles comparable to the PC version.
#5) Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag (Xbox 360, PS3)
A great series, but can this one still keep our attention without just being more of the same? I hope so.
#4) Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Blacklist (Xbox 360, PS3)
A new Splinter Cell is like a breath of fresh air. With great graphics, gameplay, storyline and multi-player; Splinter Cell is one of my favorite series of all time.
#3) Beyond Two Souls (PS3)
From the creator of Heavy Rain this cinematic game should draw you in with an engaging plot and great cast of voice actors including William Dafoe. It’s like watching a movie….but it’s a game…that feels like a movie….and is actually a game!
#2) Watch Dogs (Xbox 360, PS3)
Watch Dogs looks amazing. The gameplay looks fresh and the world looks alive. Another game that might be worth considering picking up on the PS4 or Xbox One to get the best looking version of the game. If you haven’t heard of this game before reading this article then go check out the trailer now!
#1) Grand Theft Auto V (Xbox 360, PS3)
If the cover image didn’t give this one away then I’m sorry you must be living under a rock. You should have already pre-ordered this months ago. This game will be better than watching Justin Bieber turn into a washed up drug addict when his career goes down the toilet 10 years from now.
So get busy pre-ordering some of these games….or else Yoda will cut you!
