FOX Announces ’24: Live Another Day’ Premiere Date
The return of Jack Bauer is now official. The 24 Facebook page recently posted that “the iconic pulse-pounding clock resets when 24: Live Another Day premieres with a special two-hour television event Monday, May 5.”
The two-hour premiere begins at 8 p.m., and the limited event series will air in FOX’s old 24 time slot of Monday at 9 p.m. starting Monday, May 12. Three years and eight months ago, fans of the groundbreaking television series said goodbye to one the most iconic characters in Jack Bauer, but it was widely speculated that a film would be in the works. FOX, however, scrapped the idea for a movie and opted to have the characters return in a limited series consisting of 12 episodes.
Live Another Day takes place four years after the series finale. Jack is on the run from the government and he winds up in London. Sutherland, Mary Lynn Rajskub (Chloe O’Brian), Kim Raver (Audrey Raines) and William Devane (James Heller) return to reprise their roles, and the show includes newcomers Yvonne Strahovski (Chuck), Giles Mathey (Jobs), Gbenga Akinnagbe (The Wire), Michael Wincott (The Crow) and Judy Davis (Life with Judy Garland).
Here’s more from the post on the 24 Facebook Page:
The high-octane saga reunites the Emmy Award-winning team of executive producer Howard Gordon; star and executive producer Kiefer Sutherland; co-creator Robert Cochran; executive producers EvanKatz, Manny Coto, David Fury and Brian Grazer; and executive producer and director Jon Cassar. Set and shot in London, the suspenseful event series once again will follow the exploits of heroic agent JACK BAUER (Sutherland), as he attempts to thwart an unthinkable terrorist attack that could change the world forever. Retaining the real-time, nail-biting, fast-paced format with split screens and interweaving storylines.
